Thank you!!!  To EVERYONE who made today a success.  Team Goin’ for Owen has raised over 14,200 dollars towards a cure for Cystic Fibrosis here in Sacramento and over 19,000 nationally.  I cannot tell you how much emotion rushes over me when I say that.  Owen does 6 hours of treatments a day and I know that because of the efforts of this Team and all who support the cause to make CF stand for Cure Found that we will cure this.  Thank you for all the hope and love you have given us.  We are restored and ready to fight for another year.

All our love.

New Drug

I want to take a time out from the blog to thank everyone who supports our Great Strides team.
Our hope is when you  attend a fundraising event you are able to walk, skate, golf, eat or whatever and you walk away having had a really fun time.  We enjoy the events because we get to see so many of our family and friends from all over. We also feel good knowing that over 90 percent of all revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.

This new medication will help Owen fight his Pseudomonas.  Pseudomonas is an aggressive bacteria that thrives in the environment CF lungs provide.  Previously, he had been using nebulized TOBI to fight the infection.  Nebulized TOBI works well, however the treatment time is 30 minutes, where the inhaled TOBI takes about 5 to 10 minutes.  That is an awesome difference.  More time to play, more time to sleep, more TIME to NOT be hooked to a nebulizer.  Thank you.

Thank you again for your support of our team, thank you for helping us on the road to the cure and thank you for  funding the development our newest medication!

Happy St. Patricks day!!

Top of the evening to you! What a crazy day!  We apparently had a leprechaun caught in our house who caused tons of mayhem!!  Just look at that monkey in the chandelier and who put those hockey guys on the ice??  Hope your day was filled with fun shenanigans and Shamrock shakes!
