Cystic Fibrosis Night with the Stockton Heat

We are hosting a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fundraiser at the Stockton Heat on October 15th.   We would love to invite the team and have a great team night out.  We got seats in the Lower Premium but there are four options for seats.  If you call Mark Hicks to order the tickets he can make sure we are in the same area.  His number is 209-373-1523.  Otherwise, we will have a booth on the floor with raffles and are hoping to get a group picture after the game.  The arena is pretty small so I am confident we will be able to find each other.

Please bring your family and friends. It is the opening night for the Heat and should be a high energy Saturday night.

Having CF does not Rock but We are going to Rock CF

EXTREME Hike,
After his last hospitalization, Owen received a metal from the Rock CF organization.  He was inspired and shared with us that although "CF Does not Rock but we CAN ROCK CF."  Gary and I are using this inspiration to charge us to hike 22 miles.  Owen is fighting daily for his health, we are working to set a good example and provide for Owen the role models he deserves.  Although Owen is not allowed to Hike, he has gone on countless training  bike rides and runs with us.  He is working hard to improve his health by using exercise and proper completion of his treatments. 

Please consider joining us or supporting us as we embark on this epic hike!  We appreciate every donation!  We see it as a step towards a cure, perhaps one day Owen will spend 4 hours a day playing and exercising and not doing treatment.

Back at Camp Kaiser

After three years we are back in the hospital.  Owen is much older and wiser than last time.  We have been trying a few new airway clearance techniques and enjoying the healthy delicious food.  We are grateful for all the treatments and medications that have kept him hospital clear for so long.  We are taking full advantage of this stay to improve his health and not come back again for a while.

Hello Team,

We stride to make better tomorrows for those fighting cystic fibrosis. On Thursday, Owen will be under going a bronchoscopy to evaluate the health of his lungs. No big deal, he has been having some issues lately and we want to make sure we are not missing anything. We would appreciate any and all prayers and good vibes sent his way. Owen will be watching the NFL draft from the comfort of his bed while eating an unlimited supply of popsicles so he is doing well with the anticipation.

Having said that, we are very much aware that it is the donations and efforts of people like yourselves that have afforded him the medications and treatment therapies that have kept him hospital and bronchoscopy free for the last 3 years.

Great Strides Information for Saturday

Good Evening Team,

First off we just want to thank everyone who is coming out on Saturday for the walk.  Your participation and support is such a lift to us. Knowing there are so many people in our lives who take time out to walk with us is amazing.  Before I hit on a few house cleaning items to keep you in the know, please remember people with CF are not to be within 6 feet of one another to prevent the sharing of CF specific lung infections.   Please be conscious of the event nature, use lots of sanitizer, cough into your elbow and throw tissues away. Most of the CFer’s will have a MVP baseball shirt on.  These are the folks you are walking for.  They all truly appreciate you being there.  Thank you again for joining us this year!

Parking - Parking will be available for free in the Raley Field parking lots

Check-in / Registration -is located on the Main Gate Plaza in front of the Raley Field Box Office.  The registration table will tell you where we are sitting as well as give you all the walk day goodies like entrance tickets to get you access to all the fun.  This is also the time to pick up any incentive prizes you have earned. 

Meet up Time- We are asking our team to be registered, checked in and at our area by 9:00 am.   That gives us about 10 minutes to tell you what you need to know and then do a team photo at 9:10.  Team Photos are going to be done inside the park near the main entrance gate. We are trying to get red and white balloons for our area to distinguish us from others. That will give us time for our team photos, thank yous and all the fun other stuff.

PRIZES: I'm including the link to the Great Strides prizes for anyone who has fundraised $100 or more. Please take a look and know what selection you'd like to make once you get up to the Registration Check In booth, and pass along to your Walkers as well :) This year, our Chapter offered an additional incentive prize. The Pre Walk Fest
Raley Field Gates will open at 8:00am with access to pre-walk activities including refreshments,
Mascot Mania, Team Photos, Roaming Selfie's, The Music Zone, Health & Wellness Expo, Vendor Village, Dinger's Kids Corner, Raffle, Super Raffle, Silent Auction, The Wall of Champions, "Why I Stride" Tribute Wall, M.V.P. Art Walk, Zumba Warm-Up, Jumbo-Tron Presentations and More!    

The Walk
The 5k Great Strides walk will start at 9:30am on the Raley Field Plaza at the Main Gate Start Line. The kick-off ceremony will begin with a few special guests and an extra festive Raley Field start!

The Post Walk Fest
As you complete the walk, you'll enter Raley Field through the center field gate, walk around the baseball field to the exciting finish line. The Great Strides Walk Fest will continue including a special "run the bases" for all kids, lunch a free Ballpark BBQ lunch (Dinger Dogs and Black Bean Burgers, Chips, and unlimited soft drinks), RAFFLES, Vendor Village, Health and Wellness Expo, live entertainment, fun & games and more!    They will be  set up to take credit cards for all raffles and silent auctions this year!
